“Boy, you feel good to hold!” These are the words my boyfriend exclaims these days whenever he hugs me since I began working out with Nang a year ago. After suffering a tear to my right rotator, I underwent surgery. The surgery went well, but my doctor was full of many cautions and “You will not be able to do’s….” Shortly after that, I also had to have foot surgery where pins and screws were inserted to hold my right foot together. In addition, my knees, particularly my right knee began to give me problems, making many exercises excruciating. My knee doctor told me to stop doing any exercise that put stress on my knees, including jogging, climbing stairs, strenuous step aerobics, etc. Three years later, thirty pounds overweight, I found myself in the gym, struggling with exercising on my own, but holding back according to my doctors’ advice to avoid re-injury. The result was I was investing two hours in the gym three days a week, and watching my diet, with barely any results to show for it. In fact, for two years I found myself in a cycle of reinjury brought on whenever I tried to advance even mildly in my weight training program or even if I stepped up my walking pace on the treadmill. At that point even exercising on an elliptical trainer caused me excruciating pain.
Frustrated, I decided to talk to Nang and discovered that she could design a sensible approach to weight training that would work for me. We began slowly, but my friends started to notice the change in me almost immediately. With Nang’s help I now lift weights I never dreamed I could ever lift. I am doing exercises that the doctors told me I would always have to avoid, because Nang knows how to train all the supporting muscles, not just the main large muscles, that allow the body to perform these moves.
Not only is my body looking and feeling toned and firm, I have lost all but about five pounds of the extra weight I had gained. Nang is extremely supportive and extremely knowledgeable on how our bodies work and on the proper nutrition we need. She is my biggest cheerleader!
Each time I go to the gym, I see many dedicated people working out regularly on their own, but, I notice their bodies never change. What I know for sure is this: working with a certified trainer is the key to success. No matter how diligent we are at working out on our own, it is difficult for us, on our own, to really challenge ourselves to the next level. Also, the average person like me seldom has the knowledge that a good trainer has about working all the muscles to achieve symmetry and proportion, and to avoid injury.
I look great and feel terrifically full of energy. My workouts are interesting and fun! I have Nang to thank for this. She is truly my partner in achieving a healthy lifestyle. Forget what workout or diet experiences you may have had in the past. Forget what others may tell you that you cannot do. I know personally that I can achieve anything I desire. I have! You can, too! I have been training with Nang for almost two years. The changes in my body have been great. I am at the size I was when I was in my 20's. I am now 42. I am more in proportion. I had been very discouraged about the size of my hips. I even had an exercise instructor tell me I could not get rid of them they were muscle. Well that was so untrue. After training with Nang I could see the change. I am now wearing size 8 pants where as before I was in a 12. I even had several people who had seen me for years at the gym come up to me and say what a difference they could see in me. I have exercised for a long time but obviously was doing the wrong things and needed Nang's help. I am also more conscious about my eating too. The combination of having a great trainer, exercising regulary and eating right makes such a difference. I highly recommend Nang. She practices what she trains you and knows fitness.

Update: I have continued to train with Nang, it has now been four years since I started training. I am currently at a size 4, never remember being a size 4 before now. I feel great. I have so many people complement me on the changes. Most people never guess my correct age, they always think I am about 7-8 years younger than my true age. I credit that to my workouts and healthy eating. I would have never been able to accomplish this without Nang's help. She is by far the best trainer around and I have watched other trainers. I worked out with Nang for two years, I recently moved to Colorado. First of all, the information and the training techniques Nang taught me are serving me well now. I have joined a gym in my new home and am able to walk in and know how to work out. When I first met Nang, I was working out by myself and was getting bored. I also needed some stress relief from a very intense job. After my first workout with Nang, I realized I had no idea what I was doing. I was working out all wrong and seeing no results. Within 12 weeks, Nang transformed my body. I have nice rounded shoulder muscles and that line between my chest muscles! It is nice to celebrate those victories with someone that really has your best interest in mind. She has a great ability to train individuals for their specific desires. Talk to her about your goals and you will get there together! Don't waste anymore time trying to get there on your own. She knows how to help you achieve your goals and you will have a great time doing it. We always had a blast working out and the changes in my body were just icing on the cake!
